1. Applicant must be either an Owner or Operator of a Swap Meet, Flea Market, or Open Air Market as defined in Section 21661 of the California Business and Professions Code. 2. All of the Markets located in California that are owned or operated by the applicant must be included as members. 3. Applicants Market(s) must possess a minimum aggregate of 200 selling spaces. 4. Applicants Market operation must be open for business at least one time per month and a minimum of 12 times per year. 5. Applicant must possess and maintain all applicable business permits and or licenses as may be required by all City, County, State, and Federal governing authorities. 6. Applicant Owner or Operator must have been operating a Market, as defined in Section 21661 or the California Business and Professions Code, for a period of no less than 2 years. 7. Applicant Owner / Operator must possess and maintain Insurance for Property Damage and Public Liability for the Market facility.
MEMBERSHIP CODE OF ETHICS
The California Swap Meet Association has established the Code of Ethics to ensure that all members of this association operate their respective business with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to the betterment of the industry. Members who do not maintain full compliance with the Code of Ethics may face removal from the CSMA if deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. . Assist and support the CSMA in promoting the general welfare of all Swap Meet / Flea Market operators within the State of California. . Assist and support the CSMA in providing a medium to enhance the common interest of its members. . Assist and support the CSMA in promoting amicable relations between its members and any other group. . Pay all dues in a timely fashion. . Attend at least 1 General Membership meeting per year. . Establish and enforce internal policies within my Company to deal with non- compliant vendors (3 strike rule, etc.,.) . Be a positive entity within the local community. . Maintain a standard of behavior that is consistent with this Code of Ethics. . Work with the various public and private regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable City, County, State, and Federal laws governing Swap Meets/Flea Markets.
